Next Up- Eastern Ontario Select 7on7 Update

If you have kept up with Brockville Football over the last three years you have heard a lot about Evan Cordingley, Nathan Mboma, and Marcus Ola. These three head off on full scholarships this August and have left a spark of motivation in our younger athletes.

As Brockville has begun to produce high level football players annually the need to promote our athletes has grown. The next elite bunch of athletes coming out of our Eastern Ontario Select 7on7 Program are feeling the wind shift in their favour as our grade 12’s prepare to move on. Patience is a key part of high level football and our grade 11 crop is ready to take over.

Logan Paulin, a grade 11 captain of the 2022 Elite 7s program and current starting defensive half for the u18 AAA Cornwall Wildcats is a player to watch. Paulin plays football with his intelligence, experience, and with a calm violent demeanour. The class of 2023 DB/FS has made it known his schools of choice are Waterloo, St. Mary’s and ST. FX. Logan’s area of academic interest is Business and he is currently an 85% student athlete. Paulin’s grade 11 film will be available at the completion of the 2022 OSFL season.

Dylan Nakamura, a very shifty and intelligent grade 11 slot back, has already made his presence felt this summer for the Cornwall Wildcats. Nakamura, also a member of the Elite 7s program, gets ready to step into a leadership role next year. The former QB has a good understanding of where to sit when playing against zones, and when and where to use his changes of speed when defences go cover 1. Dylan’s greatest strengths are his agility and vision when route running as he is able to quickly identify man/zone. Film will be available at the completion of the 2022 OSFL season.

Cam Belisle is a name you need to get used to hearing! The grade 11 who starts opposite to Paulin as the Wildcats defensive halfback is a physical specimen. The pairing could also be quite the 2023 USPORT duo getting 2 OSFL seasons starting together + 2 7on7 seasons again, starting together. Cam is one of the more physical defensive players for the stout u18 Wildcats. Film will be available after the completion of the OSFL season, but do not hesitate on Belisle as he will be gone as a top prospect. Cam was invited to the USPORT prospect camp August 5th at Guelph, the same camp where Cordingley, Ola and Mboma earned their offers last summer.

We can’t wait for our guys to showcase their skills on August 5th in front of the top programs in the country. Whose next?

Tryouts for our 2023 Eastern Ontario Select 7on7 Program will begin late August and run throughout September.
