Welcome back for another year of Brockville Men's Basketball League! We would like to thank our team sponsors for 24/25; Super Simple Sheets, Captain's Barber Chair, Stonemarx, Brockville Hyundai, Lonesome Pine Farms, Ewyn Weight Loss Studios, and Rideau Realty.
Stonemarx (Perrin):
After back to back A-cup championships everyone has this team circled on their schedules. Captain Sean Perrin has proven himself as a strategic drafter that puts together highly competitive seasons. With most of the squad back together expect tough games everytime you lace up against Stonemarx.
Captain's Barber Chair (Clemmons):
Captain Mitch Clemmons drafted a well rounded squad that is sure to create match up problems and floor spacing. With MVP candidate Josh Van Wieren in the middle and a few elite 3 ball shooters teams are going to have to make concessions defensively. Should be a fun team to watch with potential to be the leagues top offence.
Brockville Hyundai (Kloosterman):
First year captain Brian Kloosterman drafts 2 reigning champs in Downie and Lockhart, plus secures a lot of guards to complement his height. Let's see if sophomore Zach Lockhart can take his new team to the promise land.
4Life Fitness (Benson):
This squad took a jump forward last year, earning a spot in the A-cup semi final where they fell short to Super Simple Sheets. Jacob White has led 4Life in scoring the last 2 years, but looks to have more support around him this year. Expect 4Life to play team basketball and get everyone involved with several versatile players.
Rideau Realty (Burns):
A perennial playoff contender and reigning Jardine Cup (B-cup) champions add more shooting this year. Super athlete Blain Wells is back with their long list of willy veterans. As Well's looks to defend his rebounding title (15.9 RPG) can anyone stay in striking distance?
Super Simple Sheets (Fullarton):
Take this one with a Super Simple grain of salt, but this squad has a lot of questions marks this year. With an entirely new look expect Fullarton to take over more often this year as he will need to score for his team to perform as they typically do. SSS has finished top 2 the last 2 years and expect this team to climb the weekly power rankings as they gel over time.
Ewyn Weight Loss Studios (Fawcett):
With captain Todd Fawcett placed on the IR to start the season and unlikely to return this year Ewyn adopts a new identity in year 3. Ewyn will have to rely on efficient shooting and running the floor in transition with no true size at the C position. Devin Burns is back to run the point and opposing guards into the floor, they also picked up Huttinga who brings a calm presence to the half court offence which will be welcomed without Fawcett.
Lonesome Pine Farms (Fortier):
Bob and Tim are back together again. They're going to have to act like parent's to keep all these Fortier's in line. Sorry fellas no break from parenting on Wednesday nights this year. Fortier has a tall task in his first year captaining, but has championship pedagree so this team could surprise us.
Check back next week for the Week 1 Updated Power Rankings.
