BMBL Cup Update

As we approach the end of January each team has 2 games remaining until the inaugural BMBL Cup, taking place Saturday February 7th. This in-season tournament will mark the mid-point of the season and simultaneously crown a mid-season champ. Heres how this week's games shake things out heading into the end of the BMBL cup seeding games.

Super Simple Sheets & Mike Fair GM remain undefeated in Cup games- while Podium lost a close game this week, but ended up moving up a spot into 3rd as Tomlinson (now 4th) fell to Super Simple Sheets by 29. These are the top 4 teams that as of now would move into the A-side on Feb 7. There is a 3-way tie between Lonesome Pine Farms, Rideau Realty & 4Life Fitness for the 5 spot with very tight point differentials. Here is how this can shake up.

There are multiple scenarios for 3-7 seeds as Ewyn is statistically eliminated from the A-cup with their sights set on the B-championship on Feb 7. Lonesome Pine Farms has the toughest route to the A-side with games against Super Simple Sheets & Mike Fair GM. Rideau Realty will play Ewyn & 4Life Fitness- while 4Life will play Rideau & Tomlinson and need to win both to make the A-side (If Podium and Tomlinson win both their games then Rideau & 4Life would stay B-side regardless of winning out). All to say the next 2 weeks of games are MUST wins for multiple teams trying to push into the A-side, while Super Simple Sheets & Mike Fair GM are the first teams to secure spots in the A-Cup.
