BMBL Week 2/3 Updates:

MEN’S LEAGUE WEEK 2/3 RECAP: After 3 weeks each team has played 2 games and only 2 teams remain undeated. There is a log jam from 3-6 and 2 teams are still looking for the coveted first win.

WEEK 2 GAME RESULTS

Super Simple Sheets 56 – Tomlinson 43

Tomlinson walked in confident and walked out looking like they’d been tucked in by the league’s smoothest team. Super Simple Sheets identity is forming with an elite defence. Tomlinson’s offence? Let’s just say it spent most of the night fighting for the corner of the blanket.

Player of the game: Cody Hache (back to back weeks) making a case for MVP.

Lonesome Pine Farm 57 – Ewyn Studios 44

Lonesome Pine Farm stays unbeaten with another win powered by good old-fashioned barnyard efficiency. Ewyn, meanwhile, put up 44 points as they search for scoring. Both teams have big week 4 matchups with implications for both standings and power rankings.

Player of the game: Adam Babbitt leading the way defensively!

4Life Fitness 76 – Podium Sports Therapy 66

4Life Fitness dropped a season-high 76— however Podium was without their top 3 draft picks. Podium kept it tight but Josh Kleinlagel dropping 27 on efficient shooting was too much along with contributions from the entire lineup. Not much to take away here as Podium was short handed but a good shooting night moves 4Life into 1st place in league scoring and 4th in standings.

Mike Fair GM 55 – Rideau Realty 59

A gritty win for Rideau Realty, proving that even after Week 1’s flat tire, they can still get rolling. In a double OT game Rideau Realty pulled out a huge win. Blain Wells led the way for Rideau Realty and both teams now sit at 1-1 after 2 games.

Player of the game: Blain Wells uses his athleticism to seal the deal in double OT win.

STANDINGS & POWER RANKINGS AFTER WEEK 2

1. Super Simple Sheets (2–0) – Power Rank: 1 (–)

A clean, crisp, undefeated record. With a +41 differential, they’re the team to beat right now. Streak: W2

They score, they run, they win. Defensive consistency will determine this teams ceiling but, 2–0 is 2–0. Streak: W2

A double OT loss earns them stability in the rankings. No reason to over react here, these guys are ballers. Streak: L1

Taking an L to the league leaders isn’t an issue. This team has the tools to make a Geldhart Cup run. Streak: L1

5. Rideau Realty (1–1) – Power Rank: 5 (–)

Competitive in every game so far. Buying? Selling? Winning double OT games? They do it all. Streak: W1

6. 4Life Fitness (1–1) – Power Rank: 6 (+1)

A 76-point explosion vaults them upward. However, this team has to prove it against a top seed at full strength still! Streak: W1

This team is still loading as they need some time at full strength for us to get a real feel for the new look squad. Podium vs. Ewyn week 4 matchup is next weeks game of the week with lots of implications. Streak: L2

Off to a slow start Ewyn is dealing with bad knees and the top 2 teams. Ewyn Weight Loss is playing the 7 seed next week in what will be a nice break from facing 1 & 2 early. Streak: L2

FINAL THOUGHTS

Two undefeated teams, two winless teams, and the rest of the league tightly packed. Week 4 promises close and very competitive games. With 4Life vs. Rideau (4/5 in standings), Ewyn vs. Podium (7/8 in standings), Lonesome Pine Farms vs. Super Simple Sheets (1/2 in standings), and Mike Fair GM vs. Tomlinson (3/6 in standings) get your popcorn ready.
