Week 2 saw 4Life Fitness drop a close one to Angelo's Restaraunt 57-50. After a slow start for Angelo's that saw them down 12 before half, they tightened up on offence and broke down the 4Life 2-3 zone with great ball movement and patience. Player of the game goes to Josh Parsons for hitting timely shots and controlling the pace of the game for the second half comeback.

Game 2 at BCI was an OT thriller between Mighty Valley Coffee and Rideau Realty. It would appear that car pooling has increased chemistry as the 8-seed knocked off the 3-seed by 1. With MVC getting their first round draft pick back from injury they pick up their first win of the young season. Rideau was missing Blain Wells, which had an impact on their rebounding and might have been the difference. Player of the game goes to Mitch Clemmons for his shooting performance.
Week 2 players of the game: Josh Parsons and Mitch Clemmons are invited to join us next week after the games at the Barley Mow. Your first pint is on us.
After 2 weeks of games here are our new, updated power rankings:
1.Super Simple Sheets (-)
With the bye week for SSS they wont see any movement in our power rankings as this is still the team to beat. SSS has a big match up week 3 vs. Make Your Move Kingston to see if they can remain undefeated.
2. Angelo's Restaurant (-)
Beating 4Life in their week 2 matchup by 7 Angelo's stay at the 2 spot. With a week 3 match up vs Rideau Realty that should be a gritty game whistle to whistle, a win could move them into the 1-seed.
3. Rideau Realty (-)
With a week 2 loss to the 8-seed we debated moving Rideau to the 4 spot, but decided to keep them put at 3. Without their top rebounder Blain, who also draws defences attention this team should bounce back week 3.
4. 4Life Fitness (-)
A week 2 loss to the 2-seed was a wake up call for 4Life that they need to compete 40 minutes and not take their foot off the gas with early leads. 4Life was missing 2/3 of their big men, which should be a key factor in their week 3 match up vs. Mighty Valley Coffee.
5. Make Your Move Kingston (-)
Staying put at 5 MYMK has a tough week 3 matchup vs. the 1-seed Super Simple Sheets. A loss could drop them to the bottom of the power rankings, while a win could see them seeded as high as 2. This is an interesting team to watch as the beginning of the season starts to play out. As one of three teams searching for their first W, can they get it vs. Fullarton and gang?
6. Eldridge Electric (-)
Still waiting for a Cody Hache update this team has the potential to make a lot of noise at full strength with their skill and shooting abilities. Eldridge Electric squares off vs. Ewyn Weight Loss in week 3 and this is a big one for both teams trying to climb the power rankings.
7. Mighty Valley Coffee (+1)
Grabbing their first win of the season behind Mitch Clemmons big night. Clemmons dropped 21 points and the 3-ball to tie the game and force OT. If Rideau had been at full force you could have seen MVC as high as the 5-seed after their win, but we need see to a bit more before the jump! MVC plays 4Life in their week 3 matchup.
8. Ewyn Weight Loss Studio (-1)
This is more of a metaphorical demotion than an actual drop in the power rankings. As Ewyn was on a bye week and didnt get a chance to play week 2 we still need to see more from this team at full strength to gauge where they're at. Ewyn plays Eldridge Electric week 3 in what could have serious impacts on the power rankings! Lets see if the dynamic duo of Fawcett and Burns can lead this team to the promise land.
