Eastern Ontario Select 7s C/O 2024 USPORT Prospects

Updated: Nov 30, 2023

Jack Howell (Slot)- 2 year captain and 2023 Team MVP finished his NCAFA season with 48 receptions for 1049 yards and also added 715 yards as a returner on 19 touches (15 total TDs). Jack was named NCAFA player of the week 4x.

Schools of interest: STFX, Guelph, Laurier, Windsor, Carleton, Bishop's, U Ottawa, and McMaster. Jack has had contact with Windsor, Carleton and Bishop's but remains uncommitted for 2024. Jack is a tremendous athlete that is going to accomplish a lot at the next level. Jack is a controlled route runner, with a high motor and is ultra competitive. Jack's USPORT comparisons are Nate Walker (Bishop's) and Savaughn Magnaye Jones (Western).

Mason Salati (HB)- Stepping into a captains role this year, Mason has taken giant leaps as a football player and leader. Mason is extremely coachable, always in the right spot, and leads with his actions. Mason’s footwork/technique are solid and will definitely help him get on the field at the next level.

Mason's film is available here:

Schools of interest: Waterloo, Carleton and UOttawa. Mason’s USPORT comparison is Dylan Bell (STFX). Playing with instinct and a high understanding of the game Mason will make plays at the next level.

Matt Mignault (CB)- A smooth back-pedalling, speedy DB with the ability to return kicks/punt at the USPORT level. Most notable is Matt’s body control — you will notice right away that he is always under control and has no wasted body movements in and out of his breaks.

Schools of interest: Open. Matt’s USPORT comparison is Justin Holland (ST. FX). Matt is slightly smaller than Holland but much quicker. We expect to see Matt on a USPORT field next year.

Grayson Patry (HB/FS)- Patry has awesome size for the HB position and has the ability to play safety as well. Grayson has the size to get into the box and make plays, while having the ball skills to make plays in the secondary with his length.

Schools of interest: UofT, Queen's, Carleton, Guelph and Laurier. Grayson's USPORT comparison is Callum Jasinski (Western).

C/O 2025:

Liam Saumure (WR)- USPORT comparison is Zach Benson (Bishop's) / Michael Nelson (Western/BU)- size, speed, elite jumping ability and CFL athleticism/ceiling. Liam should develop into a big time USPORT receiver as he has all the things you can't coach. Finding the right program will be very important for Liam as he has the ability to get on the field year 1/2.

Mackie Holmes (QB)- USPORT comparison's are Tre Ford (Waterloo) and Jonathan Senecal (Montreal) both of which are Hec Crighton winners. There is no short changing Mackie Holmes, the kid can do things that others simply cant. Wether he is extending plays with his IQ and athleticism or making difficult throws, Mackie has the pose and calmness that comes from elite preparation. I believe Mackie is a top 5 QB in the country for the class of 2025 and perhaps the best athlete at his position. With a timely growth spurt the C/O 25 QB now stands 6'0 175lbs.

Nephi Da Silva Moreira (Slot/WR)- Will graduate highschool this year and is planning to do grade 13 and attend a CEJEP for 2025 before looking at USPORT opportunites.

Amar Leonard (Slot/WR)- Will graduate highschool this year and is planning to do grade 13 before joining a USPORT program in 2025.

Braeden Medd (QB)- Coming off a very successful year. Braeden won the KASSA finals MVP, Regi JR football MVP, track sprint MVP, OFSAA swim relay award, as well as top junior student athlete. Braeden was recognized as the MVP in the OSFL tier 2 finals as well this summer. Braeden's USPORT comparison is Silas Fagnan (STFX).

We also have Ryan McFeeters (WR), Ryker Brunnette, Kiah Oare & Skyler Wansbrough that will be ready for USPORT C/O 2026.

Committed athletes: Dante Law- UBC, Jackson Faulds Queen's.
